In January or February I had a crown put on a tooth that was cracked pretty bad. The last couple of weeks I have been having problems with the tooth, it has been sensitive to cold and hot and it has been throbbing.
I thought I would need to have a root canal done. So I went into the dentist office, we had a couple x-rays done. He was thinking that I might have an infection. But then he started to look at my teeth and poke at them and tell me to bite down on things. I didn't have any problems. He looked at my other teeth and said, "You grind your teeth at night." I said, "yes."
Turns out, I have cracks in lots of teeth. But... I didn't need to get a root canal.
He says that I grind my teeth and that causes pain, so I am wearing my mouth guard and I am feeling just fine.
Dentists ordered that I take like a little less serious, that things happen and we just need to roll with it. :)
Guess he is right.
