David lost his second tooth. He was soooo excited! After watching his sister get little gifts from the tooth fairy he could barley contain himself that whole day. But, unfortunately he didn't mention a thing about the tooth fairy coming to visit right before he drifted off into dream land.
You see I rely on their excitement, so I can remember that the tooth fairy need to arrive that night. There are parent preparations in letting the tooth fairy in ya know.
David woke up the next morning with tears in his eyes, stating that the tooth fairy didn't come. That she forgot him.
Oh, I was CRUSHED! Maybe even more than him. I went into Pa with tears in my eyes, telling him that the tooth fairy didn't' make it. Pa asked where David was, he was in bed with his face buried in his pillow.
So, Pa said that the tooth fairy can still make it if we help her in.
She was able to get in there and give him a fairy bill and a figurine from Batman.
So, later that morning I went in and asked him if he was okay.
He sat up with his lower lip out and just as sad as could be. (this is very odd for David, he usually doesn't let anything get to him. So, it really broke my heart to see him this way)
So I looked at a pillow next to him and said, "David, what is that under you Diego pillow?"
He looked and he found it, the magic that enters into childhood. The tooth fairy DID come. He was not forgotten!
He was sleeping on, I think it was 4 or 5 standard pillows. How he slept I do not know, but the tooth fairy wasn't able to get his tooth out from under so many pillows. He was saddened by this, but I let him know that the pillows were just too heavy for her to get under.
The tooth was handed to his Mother and he then lived Happily Ever After.
Oh, and by the way... He has serious doubts about Santa being real, but the tooth fairy... shoot, she's gotta be real!! Love this kid!
