Have you ever seen a molting chicken?
It is quite funny!
And a little sad.
Poor Hunter was so embarrassed by this stage in her life.
She tried to hold her head high.
But the other chickens would peck at those feathers.
So she would keep her head lower than usual just to hide the balding neck.
Poor, poor Hunter.

Original is going through the same thing. I'm only getting 1 egg per week and the price of 1 doz eggs right now is $1.49!
We buy the "organic free-range" eggs. They're over $3 a dozen. It'll be nice when we can have chickens!
