Library Culture Pass

Do you realize that we can now go to museums for free??  Well at least 4 of us can.  The libraries are now giving out passes to museums and such.  They give them out on Wednesdays.

Our library opens at 10:00 am.  I went by at 8:30 am just to see what time they opened and what do ya know there were about 5 people already in line.  So, I went home got the kids fed and dress and we went to stand in a line.

Upon arriving, it was 9:30 by then.  The line was longer, but kids got to play with the seed pods from the trees and they played on the rocks.  They were really good.  (It has been an issue lately.)  I also had some good company there.  She was a couple of years younger than me and she was so nice to say that she thought I was a lot younger than her.  She has 3 kiddo's and wants to have another in the near future.  It was a nice chat we had.

At 10:00 a librarian came to the door and said to the eager group of people... "There will be no pushing, shoving, running, name calling or swearing.  Only one pass per family please.  Then she let us come in.  Wow!  It felt like it was black Friday, I think there was a little bit of pushing. They have the passes on a kiosk and it was a first come first serve basis.

So, not knowing where I would like to go I would say that I grabbed the perfect pass. ARIZONA MUSEUM FOR YOUTH.  We took Emma out of school early on Friday and went to the museum.  We had lots of fun, David is still asking to go back.  Unfortunately we forgot the camera.  Too bad because there were some really neat and fun things there.

I would say it was worth the line.  They will be having these passes for at least one year.  I will be taking advantage of them.  -Ma

Dairy Farm

The Dairy Farm had a practically free admissions day about a month ago and we took advantage of it.  The kids had tons of fun.  They got to pet the goat.

We got to see some interesting looking chickens.  We discussed getting more chickens, because it would be soooo cooool to have a chicken lay a green egg.  Maybe later.

The kids had fun in the straw maze.

Neat car.

Tractors are always fun.

We went on a hay ride to see what a dairy farm is all about.  I really liked that part the most.

They were asking everyone to squeeze on and sit back to back.  When we do family outings I tend to get really up tight, I worry about the kids staying close, I worry about all of the safety stuff, etc. etc.  So, by the time we went to sit down at the hay ride I had just had a DAY.  The lady behind me was not leaving much room for anyone.  She was sitting all the way back with the back of her knees touching the hay.  So, I think I said something like, "Can ya scoot a bit, so I can sit down too?"  She gave me a disturbing look and moved a tad.  By the end of the ride my leg muscles hurt from keeping myself from falling.  Oh well, we survived.  :o)

I think the cows liked that the kids couldn't touch them.

Ohhhh and this was cool.  They showed us a smaller version of a cotton mill.  I don't know if that is what it is called, but it separates the cotton from the seeds.

We learned about the order of planting a seed, the kids made bracelets to help them remember.
They also planted a cotton seed and it grew quite well, I just didn't follow threw with it.

All the different things in the ground.

Pa and Jacob outside the maze.  Right behind the wheel in a crack in the bales of hay there were probably 15 or more eggs.  I think we should call and let them know they are missing out on some eggs.  hehe

Fun memories. -Ma

CPR Class

About a month ago Pa and I took a CPR class and it was FREE!!

I don't think I have ever taken a CPR class before.  Since I've had kids, it has always been a want/need.  But for some reason it has never been a priority.
I think I haven't wanted to take the class because of the fear of needing to use the information.  I know that is just a silly and stupid reason.  But, whatever.
So, we have taken the class and I am so glad that we did.
Sorry no pictures of Pa. -Ma

Before & After Stain

We decided that it needed to be done.  Ya know if ya want it to last.
We stained the Chicken Run,

And the Play Set

I put the photo's in a not so correct order, but it takes too long to switch around.  ;)
The kids got to help with the spray gun.

It's looking good in Barn Yard RED!!

David wanted to dress like Pa.  So he used a wipe for a mask, gloves and sunglasses.
I should have just let him put on the mask.
I don't know why I say "no" sometimes.

Next project, our house.
It really needs a new coat of paint.
But first it will get new updated, energy efficient windows.

Easter

We had a great Easter this year it was stress free.

Friday we colored eggs.  No pictures, we just had fun.

Saturday we made sugar cookies.  No pictures again, we just had fun.

Sunday we were about 30 minutes late to church.

The easter bunny was great this year because he got the kids two toys each.  The girls got two tinker bell toys each.  David got a pretend squishy snake, and a lego set.  Jacob got a ball and a chain saw.  Very interesting gifts for easter, I know.
Then they each received a pack of gum, trail mix and a hollow chocolate bunny.  We really wanted to stay away from the sugar.

BUT EVEN IT YOU STAY AWAY FROM THE SUGAR,,, IT STILL COMES!

At church, each of the kids received sugar from their teachers.
Our home teacher came by and brought a whole basket full of goodies.

The House Was Full Of Sugar!

For the easter egg hunt, we made rice crispy treats and put them into the plastic egg, making egg shaped rice crispy treats.  We also put nilla wafers into plastic eggs, and mini teddy bear crackers.  We hid juice boxes and the real eggs, and more trail mix.

We had lots of fun!

For dinner we had a yummy chicken salad.  I can't believe that I got stuffed with salad.

Pictures will come later.  Time to clean up the easter grass and the chickens need more water.  -Ma

Note To Self...

Do NOT put away baby clothes when you have decided to wait to have another baby.  Just leave them in a bag and deal with it later.  Very, very dangerous!  -Ma
